Since 2011, LoftBoard has been fitting raised loft boarding for homeowners across Shropshire and the West Midlands. We started doing it because we kept being called out to lofts someone else had boarded, and finding the same thing every time: insulation crushed flat under the boards, eaves stuffed solid, and a homeowner wondering why the bedrooms had got colder.
Over 15+ years, we have boarded lofts of every shape — trussed roofs, cut roofs, bungalows with acres of space, and terraces where you can barely turn round. The method does not change. Check the joists, get the insulation to depth, lift the floor above it on a raised system, and leave the air moving at the eaves.
We are fully insured, and we will tell you when the answer is no. If the joists will not take what you want to store, or what you actually want is a loft conversion rather than a storage floor, you will hear that before you have paid us anything.
We board above the insulation on a raised system, never squash it down to fit the joists.
